Job DescriptionTRANSPORTATION SPECIALIST – LOCAL CDL DRIVER

Where You’ll Work…
You’ll be based at our Canal Street facility in Milwaukee’s Menomonee River Valley—home to our corporate offices, high-tech pizza production lines, on-site bakery, and 24-hour shipping and receiving operations. As part of our Logistics Team, you’ll support multiple Palermo’s sites within the Milwaukee area.
What You’ll Do…

Complete local pickups and deliveries of raw materials and finished goods

Transfer product between Palermo’s facilities

Safely and efficiently execute dispatch assignments, reporting delays or issues

Occasionally spot trailers as needed

Maintain accurate DOT logs and comply with all safety regulations

Perform routine equipment cleanliness and basic maintenance checks

Build strong working relationships with production, warehouse, and logistics teams

Support company policies, including expectations for people and food safety

What You Bring…
Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience
-
Refrigerated transportation experience preferred
Computer Skills

Basic experience with ELDs, mobile apps, email, and communication tools

Ability to use handheld scanners or tablets for load verification
Licenses & Certifications

Valid Class A CDL required
Other Requirements

Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds

Ability to climb in/out of trucks and trailers

Comfort working in outdoor temperatures and refrigerated environments
Physical Environment
This is a local-only driving role—you’ll be home every day. Work includes extended periods of sitting while driving, frequent climbing into/out of cabs and trailers, and exposure to outdoor conditions and cold storage. PPE such as safety shoes and high-visibility apparel may be required.
