Job DescriptionTRANSPORTATION SPECIALIST – LOCAL CDL DRIVER

Where You’ll Work…

You’ll be based at our Canal Street facility in Milwaukee’s Menomonee River Valley—home to our corporate offices, high-tech pizza production lines, on-site bakery, and 24-hour shipping and receiving operations. As part of our Logistics Team, you’ll support multiple Palermo’s sites within the Milwaukee area.

What You’ll Do…

  • Complete local pickups and deliveries of raw materials and finished goods

  • Transfer product between Palermo’s facilities

  • Safely and efficiently execute dispatch assignments, reporting delays or issues

  • Occasionally spot trailers as needed

  • Maintain accurate DOT logs and comply with all safety regulations

  • Perform routine equipment cleanliness and basic maintenance checks

  • Build strong working relationships with production, warehouse, and logistics teams

  • Support company policies, including expectations for people and food safety

What You Bring…

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience

  • Refrigerated transportation experience preferred

Computer Skills

  • Basic experience with ELDs, mobile apps, email, and communication tools

  • Ability to use handheld scanners or tablets for load verification

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid Class A CDL required

Other Requirements

  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to climb in/out of trucks and trailers

  • Comfort working in outdoor temperatures and refrigerated environments

Physical Environment

This is a local-only driving role—you’ll be home every day. Work includes extended periods of sitting while driving, frequent climbing into/out of cabs and trailers, and exposure to outdoor conditions and cold storage. PPE such as safety shoes and high-visibility apparel may be required.
