Position SummaryDuties and responsibilities; Printing technicians are usually employed as prepress technicians or press operators; some workers may specialize in binding and finishing publications. Job duties can vary according to machine process and type and may include digital or plateless technologies, as well as traditional printing forms like flexography, gravure, letterpress, or lithography. In general, printing technicians are responsible for reviewing the quantity and specifics of an order, calibrating color controls, arranging pages and operating the equipment. Additional duties may also include cutting, compressing, and providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.· Responsible for managing the printing services area and SARGS to ensure jobs are completed in a timely manner· Perform printing services as requested including digital printing, cutting, stapling, collating, folding, etc.· Examine material in process and suggests improved methods of production· Operate all print shop machinery in an efficient manner· Assist print shop supervisor with job set ups as needed· Check in supplies and place in print shop inventory· File job orders· Clean and maintain print shop machinery as specified· Process completed orders and deliver orders within the administration building· Process all Epilog jobs as required· All other duties as assigned
Skills/Experience· Required: Ability to effectively follow company policies and instructions· Required: This role requires some level of physical demand as employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs. or stand for long periods of time
