Summary
The Buyer Assistant provides essential clerical and administrative support within Heinen’s Inventory Management System (Aldata) while supporting the Category Managers in day-to-day operations. This role also collaborates closely with the Marketing team to assist in the setup and layout of Heinen’s weekly promotional ad.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter and manage weekly ad and Tasteful Rewards retail price changes.
- Coordinate the creation and scheduling of weekly Tasteful Rewards email offers.
- Update weekly ad pricing in the ADC scan file.
- Ensure data accuracy in internal systems to maintain product availability for stores.
- Set up new items and manage product information in the inventory system.
- Input cost changes into the Inventory Management System.
- Research and resolve “not on file” product discrepancies.
- Partner with Warehouse Inventory Control Specialists to troubleshoot product issues.
- Communicate and collaborate with store teams to resolve product-related concerns.
- Compile holiday ordering schedules for vendors.
- Perform category-level data maintenance within the Inventory Management System, as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Teams.
- Advanced Excel skills, with experience in formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities and responsibilities.
- Demonstrated time management and critical thinking skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.
