Learnlife, a fully registered and accredited international school, is seeking a career counselor to accompany our 1418 year old learners in their pathway to higher education and life beyond school, based out of our Urban Hub in Barcelona, with monthly visits to our Village Hub and some remote work.

Weve built 3 Hubs that host 250 school-aged learners in Barcelona.
As a Career & Pathways Counsellor, you will co-create and deliver our Pathways Program at our Secondary Years campuses in Barcelona, equipping students with the skills and guidance needed for a successful transition from school to university and/or adult life. You will also play a key role in supporting learners as they define and navigate their next steps beyond school.
Start date: full time from mid- August 2026
Location & working hours: The role is primarily on-site at Enrique Granados 7, Barcelona, with some remote work and occasional visits to our other hubs. Working hours will be aligned with the admissions and enrollment calendar.
Your responsibilities
Pathways & University Guidance
- Design and lead a holistic career & university guidance program for secondary aged learners, aligned with Learnlifes purpose-driven and learner-centered philosophy.
- Support learners in identifying strengths, interests, values, and aspirations, and translating these into realistic, inspiring post-secondary pathways (universities, gap years, entrepreneurship, alternative routes).
- Guide students through application processes (personal statements, portfolios, recommendation letters, interviews, entrance exams) for international universities and systems (US, UK, EU, global).
- Find, implement and use platforms that support passion and talent identification, university research and career exploration.
- Preparation for gap year planning and for job and internship application processes.
Personalized Coaching & Mentoring
- Act as a learning guide and life coach, holding one-to-one mentoring conversations that build self-knowledge, agency, resilience and decision-making skills.
- Support learners in managing stress, deadlines, and transitions, in collaboration with wellbeing and learning support teams.
Collaboration & Systems Building
- Work closely with Learning Guides, leadership and families to ensure coherent academic planning, transcripts and recommendation processes.
- Build and maintain relationships with universities, counselors networks, and international admissions bodies.
- Co-create tools, timelines, workshops and information sessions for learners and parents.
Parent Communication
- Serve as a key point of contact for families in the university process, offering clarity, guidance and reassurance.
- Facilitate information sessions and individual meetings to align expectations and support informed decision-making.
- Hold parent information sessions and 1:1 meetings to support parents understanding and help them better support their learners.
Documentation, Tracking & Graduation Support
- Design and deliver learning experiences to support learners in meeting their graduation requirements (Capstone Project, Next Step Experiences, Rite of Passage, etc.).
- Track graduation requirements and provide additional support to ensure learners graduate in a timely manner.
- Work with mentors to better understand learners needs and support their progress.
Your experience
- 3-5 years of experience in college counseling, university guidance, secondary education leadership or international student support (IB, AP, A-Levels, US High School Diploma, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of international university systems and admissions processes (especially Europe, UK, US).
- You act as a coach, mentor, listener, and strategic guidesupporting both academic planning and personal growth.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust with adolescents and families, and to hold meaningful, future-oriented conversations.
- Highly organized, able to manage complex timelines, multiple applications, and detailed documentation.
- Experience designing guidance programs, workshops, and tracking systems is a strong asset.
- You are tech-savvy with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Student Information Systems, and you effectively integrate automation and AI into your workflows.
- Full professional proficiency in English is required.
- Spanish and/or Catalan are a strong plus.
- You bring a deep alignment with learner agency, purpose-based learning and holistic education.
- You are a self-starter with a pioneering spirit, comfortable working in an innovative, evolving school model.
