Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An elementary school in Washington, DC, is seeking two full-time Special Education Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract-to-hire position involves working onsite with students in grades 3 through 5, providing both push-in and pull-out support in an inclusive classroom setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to a caseload of 12-16 students with diverse learning needs
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt lessons to meet student requirements
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals assigned to the classrooms to support student learning
- Utilize both push-in and pull-out models to provide inclusive education within general education classrooms
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and municate effectively with families and school staff
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience teaching students in grades 3-5 in an inclusive setting
- Ability to implement push-in and pull-out instructional strategies effectively
- Strong interpersonal and munication skills to work collaboratively with paraprofessionals and school personnel
