Job Summary: FM Meat Products is looking to fill the role of HR Generalist. The successful candidate will have experience in employment, orientation, safety, accurate data entry, workers compensation and recruitment.

Essential Functions

  • Assist with various administrative duties such as filing, answering the phone, typing employment verification letters and completing employment verifications from various entities.
  • Process new hires into the employer's Human Resources Information System.
  • Recruit new employees, set interview date and times with hiring managers, process new hire paperwork such as I-9's, background checks, drug screens, reference checks.
  • Responsible for the onboarding process ensuring all documents are received and the employee is eligible to attend Day 1 of new hire orientation.
  • Assist employees with benefit questions.
  • Enroll employees in benefit programs when necessary.
  • First point of contact to field the call out line.
  • Prepare and track corrective action notices for production supervisors.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation.
  • Create employee hard copy files.
  • Administer FMLA tracking and compliance for employees.
  • Responsible for the weekly preparation of Payroll, including timecards and all adjustments.
  • Responsible for the compliance of all bulletin board postings.
  • Assist in the receipt and processing of workers compensation injuries.
  • Responsible for updating the employee running count of days without a loss of work for safety committee.
  • Responsible for ensuring E-Verify is processed within 3 days after hire date.
  • File all employee paperwork in employee's medical, benefit and employment file respectively.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience in an HR role or office management role where human resources onboarding was at least 20% of the duties and responsibilities required.

Excellent customer service skills required

Results oriented. Excellent problem-solving and follow up skills.

Computer knowledge required (Proficiency with Microsoft office required)

Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)

Associates Degree or 2 years of experience in human resources is required.

Working conditions

Most of working conditions are in a general office environment. Frequent interaction with plant personnel will require transition between warm and cold environments. Position is in a slaughter facility and person will observe and interact in an environment where cattle are slaughtered and personnel from the slaughter facility are working.

Physical requirements

The position will not require heavy lifting or physically demanding tasks.

Direct reports

The position will not have a supervisor role or persons reporting to this position.
