Job DescriptionWe are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join a government office in Colorado. This contract-to-permanent opportunity supports essential financial activities in a small detail-oriented setting, with a focus on keeping records accurate and daily transactions moving efficiently. The person in this role will contribute across payables, receivables, billing, and electronic payment processes while partnering closely with finance and administrative staff.
Responsibilities:
• Manage incoming invoices by reviewing documentation, assigning proper coding, and supporting timely payment processing.
• Record and reconcile incoming funds, post transactions accurately, and assist with preparing deposits.
• Administer utility billing activities, including account updates, charge processing, and customer account maintenance.
• Handle electronic funds transfer transactions and help ensure payments are processed securely and correctly.
• Maintain organized financial records and enter accounting data with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide day-to-day bookkeeping assistance to support routine accounting operations within the office.
• Collaborate with finance leadership and administrative personnel to address accounting needs and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with additional clerical and accounting-related duties as business needs require.• At least 2 years of experience in accounting support, bookkeeping, accounts payable, or accounts receivable functions.
• Practical knowledge of invoice processing, payment posting, and financial record maintenance.
• Experience supporting utility billing and electronic funds transfer activities.
• Familiarity with AccuFund is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy in an office environment.
