Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Certified School Nurse (CSN) opportunity is available for the 2025-2026 school year, running from August 25, 2025, through June 5, 2026. This contract position enpasses 7.5 hours per day within a K-12 educational setting located in Pottstown, PA. There are two openings to support student health services throughout the academic year.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Pennsylvania Certified School Nurse (CSN) credential required
- Valid and active Registered Nurse (R.N.) license and bachelors degree in nursing
- Proven experience in nursing, preferably in pediatric or school health settings
- prehensive knowledge of current nursing practices and public school health regulations
- Ability to ply with all federal and state laws concerning school nursing functions
- Experience working effectively with children and diverse student populations
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver health services and conduct routine medical examinations for students
- Maintain accurate student health and dental records, ensuring confidentiality
- Promote overall student wellness to support academic achievement and personal development
- Administer first aid, emergency treatments, and prescribed medications as authorized
- Conduct routine auditory, visual, tuberculosis, and scoliosis screenings as mandated
- Collaborate with school physicians and dentists during exams and treatment planning
- Manage medical supplies and oversee the operation of school health facilities
- Prepare required health reports including immunizations, injuries, and annual state documentation
- Offer medical guidance to school staff regarding student health concerns and procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned by school administration
