- HVAC SME - Engineering Support Position
Summary
An HVAC Engineer acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) serves as the primary technical authority for all HVAC systems, defining design standards, best practices, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, GMP). They lead or review HVAC system design, support projects through engineering, installation, commissioning, and validation, and resolve technical issues during execution. The SME oversees system start-up, testing, and performance verification to ensure systems meet operational and environmental requirements efficiently and reliably. Additionally, they drive continuous improvement, mentor teams, develop technical documentation, and provide expert support for audits and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in direct pharmaceutical, medical device or biotechnology industries.
- Subject Matter Expert in HVAC (Heat, Ventilation and Air Conditioning)
- Expected to execute and provide results immediately as part of the Engineering / Facilities Team.
- Experience in direct processing / manufacturing areas.
- Must be fully bilingual (English / Spanish) with excellent oral skills.
- Strong knowledge in cGxP and regulatory guidance as well as understanding of how they are applied to regulatory compliance.
- Available to work extended hours, possibility of weekends and holidays.
