Job Title: Regional Manager
Full-time, salary range: $50,000 + performance-based bonus potential
Location: Remote. Preferred candidates will be from the Pacific Northwest Region (Oregon, Washington) or will have knowledge and experience in that location.

The Council for Educational Travel (CETUSA) is a nonprofit international exchange organization that coordinates meaningful, life-changing cultural exchange experiences for high school students, university students, and young professionals. We work with volunteer host families, high schools, universities, and host employers across the U.S., and partner with numerous international sending organizations worldwide.
CETUSA is a U.S. Department of State Exchange Visitor (J-1 visa) sponsor organization.
Job Summary:
The Regional Manager plays a vital leadership role within the organization, overseeing the successful placement of international high school exchange students across the United States through the J-1 BridgeUSA Secondary School Student exchange program. This position is responsible for building, managing, and supporting a field team comprised of Local Coordinators (independent contractors).
The Regional Manager ensures the team is well-equipped to recruit qualified volunteer host families, secure school acceptances for incoming students, provide in-community support for students on program, while maintaining program compliance, supporting team performance, and upholding the organization’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and develop a team of Local Coordinators.
- Implement placement goals in collaboration with organizational leadership and drive the team to meet or exceed those goals.
- Provide Local Coordinators with strategic direction and support for the recruitment of volunteer host families and public high school placements.
- Ensure team operations align with Department of State regulations, program standards, and organizational policies.
- Participate in regular communication, training, and professional development to ensure proper compliance and support of Local Coordinators, host families and students during program duration.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Student Support, Compliance, Marketing, and international partner teams to ensure smooth placement operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred,
- Experience in sales, team management, international education, nonprofit leadership, or a related field preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, 2-3 times per year, with advance notice.
- Willingness to work flexible hours during peak seasons, including evening and weekends, as needed.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to perform tasks that may include extended periods of sitting at a desk using a computer and engaging in office-related activities. The ideal candidate should be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time; use a computer an keyboard for extended hours; communicate clearly in person, by phone, and via email.
