Human Resources Generalist

Texas Reliability Entity, Inc. (Texas RE) is hiring! We are seeking an HR Generalist to join our team. Here, you will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of the human resources program of the organization.

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant Human Resources experience.
  • General knowledge of hiring best practices, compensation administration, regulatory compliance, benefits administration, and employment laws.


Summary of Responsibilities


The Human Resources (HR) Generalist supports the daily operations of the HR program for Texas Reliability Entity, Inc. (Texas RE). The HR Generalist assists in all areas of HR, including administrative, payroll, recruitment, hiring and onboarding, benefits, employee performance, and training and development programs. This position actively partners with all levels of Texas RE employees. Reports to Director, Human Resources.

Essential Job Duties

  • General
    • Support the administration of all human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel.
    • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to recruiting, benefits, payroll/compensation, and regulatory compliance functions.
    • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
    • Participate in the development of department goals, objectives and systems.
    • Participate in ERO wide collaboration group.
    • Assist managers in rewriting job descriptions, as necessary.
    • Assist in updating the employee handbook, as necessary.
    • Conduct and/or coordinate delivery of manager and employee training.
    • Ensure compliance with all government regulatory agencies and statutes affecting employment, including DOL, EEOC, IRS, FLSA, FMLA, ERISA, ACA, etc.
    • Ensure compliance with Legal Department’s requirements regarding employee/contractor/consultant access clearance process and orientation requirements, including background checks and drug testing.
    • Provide various HR reports from ADP HRIS or other sources, as needed/requested.
    • Order and process milestone anniversary awards.
    • Accurately update and maintain personnel files and organizational charts.
    • Assist Human Resources Director with coordination of phone and virtual interviews. Update all tracking necessary for follow up in the hiring processes, including team calendar details.
    • Assist with new hire process such as setting up workspace, cubicle name tags, updating seating charts and extension phone list.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Payroll
    • Process personnel and benefit changes for semi-monthly payroll.
    • Review benefits for payroll accuracy.
  • Recruiting
    • Support the administration of the employee life-cycle activities for all employees, ranging from position identification, recruitment, screening/interviewing/onboarding, employee relations, and offboarding activities.
    • Assist in conducting new employee orientation.
  • Benefits
  1. Help develop and administer employee recognition and reward programs, including event planning, to foster an outstanding workplace culture.
  2. Assist in implementation of employee benefit plans and open enrollment.
  3. Answer employee’s general questions about benefits, referring more specific or technical questions to the benefits provider.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (an equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered).
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant Human Resources experience.
  • General knowledge of hiring best practices, compensation administration, regulatory compliance, benefits administration, and employment laws.
  • Strong computer capabilities (MS Office Suite), knowledge of and ability to use an HRIS; ADP HRIS experience preferred .

Company Highlights and Benefits

Employees work a hybrid work schedule consisting of at least two days in the office with the option of working three days remotely. Additional in-office work may be required depending on project scopes. Additionally, employees have the option to take advantage of Flexible Friday, where employees may shift working hours to earlier in the week instead of on Friday afternoon.

Texas RE pays 100% of employee-only coverage for medical, dental, vision, life and ADD, short­–term and long-term disability, and long-term care insurance, as well as the employee assistance program. Texas RE provides a generous 401(k) or Roth 401(k) savings plan for employees, contributing 10% of an employee’s compensation towards the retirement plan with full vesting after three (3) years. Additionally, Texas RE will match 75%, up to 6%, of employee contributions, with vesting at 20% per year and full vesting at five (5) years of employment.
