Therapist, Intake Coordinator – Behavioral Health Services
???? Washington, DC (Onsite at Flagship Location)
???? Full-Time | Exempt | No Supervisory Responsibilities
N Street Village is seeking a compassionate and experienced Therapist to join our Behavioral Health Services team. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of women experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, and substance use disorders.
As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide trauma-informed, client-centered therapeutic services that foster healing, resilience, and long-term stability. You’ll also have the opportunity to shape mental health programming and mentor future clinicians through our internship program.
What You’ll Do
Clinical & Therapeutic Services
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide individual and group therapy using evidence-based practices
- Facilitate psychoeducation and support groups
- Maintain a caseload of 15–20 clients across various N Street Village programs
Crisis Support
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for crisis consultation
- Provide de-escalation and emergency coordination when needed
Collaboration & Coordination
- Work closely with internal teams and external providers to ensure holistic care
- Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and staff training
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical records
- Track and report program metrics and ensure compliance with licensing standards
What We’re Looking For
Education & Licensure
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field
- DC licensure (LPC, LGPC, LICSW, LGSW, or equivalent)
- CAC certification preferred but not required
Experience
- 2+ years of clinical experience, ideally in community-based or trauma-informed settings
- Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
- Skilled in crisis intervention and treatment planning
Skills
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed, client-centered care
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work with diverse populations, especially women facing systemic barriers
- Proficiency in clinical documentation and DSM-5-TR criteria
