Staff Accountant

Location: Remote (Able to Travel to Tysons Corner, VA)
Department: Finance & Accounting
Reports to: Corporate Controller
Job Type: Full-Time


Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for performing core accounting functions including general ledger journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close activities, and audit support. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles and a strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage billing, collections and accounts payable.
  • Prepare and post general ledger journal entries accurately and timely.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits, including gathering documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Review financial data for accuracy, identify discrepancies, and propose corrective actions.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports and supporting schedules as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts within the accounting function and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and resolve accounting issues.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience in general accounting or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in a corporate accounting department or public accounting firm.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced or high-growth environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
