CNC Mill Programmer | St. Johns, MI

Salary Range: $55,000 - $89,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis milling machines.
  • Utilize CAD/CAM software to generate efficient and accurate toolpaths.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models, including GD&T.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding fixtures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve programming and machining issues to improve processes.
  • Collaborate with machinists and quality control to ensure part specifications are met.
  • Optimize machining parameters for cycle time reduction, tool life, and surface finish.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM).
  • Demonstrated experience in G-code and M-code programming for multi-axis CNC milling machines.
  • Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and material properties.
  • Proven experience in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC milling processes.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Vericut or similar G-code simulation software.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in advanced GD&T application for manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with CNC machine setup and operation.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
