Director of Purchasing

Grosfillex North America | Robesonia, PA

Big opportunity, real impact — with hybrid flexibility.

Grosfillex North America is hiring a Director of Purchasing to lead, influence, and elevate our purchasing function as we continue to grow and strengthen our manufacturing operations.

With our current Purchasing Manager preparing for retirement, we are taking this opportunity to build on the strong foundation already established and elevate the role to support the next chapter of Grosfillex. We are looking for a purchasing leader who can step in, learn the business, work hands-on with the team, and bring the strategic skill set needed to support the company as we continue to grow and scale.

For more than 50 years, Grosfillex has been a recognized leader in manufacturing high-quality resin outdoor furniture and decorative planters for the commercial and retail markets. As we look ahead, we are seeking an experienced purchasing professional who can bring strategic focus, supplier discipline, commodity purchasing expertise, cost-savings discipline, and strong cross-functional partnership to this important role.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Purchasing will be responsible for leading procurement strategy, supplier relationships, commodity purchases, cost management, purchasing operations, and purchasing process improvement. This role will work closely with Operations, Finance, Sales, Product Development, Customer Service, and other internal teams to ensure materials, products, and services are sourced effectively, competitively, and in alignment with business needs.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can balance daily execution with long-term strategy. The right candidate will be able to think strategically, negotiate effectively, manage supplier performance, identify documented savings opportunities, and support a manufacturing business where cost, quality, timing, and availability all matter.

This position is based in Robesonia, PA and offers the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule up to two days per week, based on business needs. Candidates should be within a commutable distance to our Robesonia location.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the company’s purchasing function, including purchasing strategy, supplier management, commodity purchasing, and purchasing operations.
  • Build on existing purchasing practices while identifying opportunities to improve, strengthen, and scale the function.
  • Develop and execute sourcing and purchasing strategies that support manufacturing, customer service, inventory, and financial objectives.
  • Monitor commodity markets, supplier trends, pricing changes, and supply risks to support informed business decisions.
  • Negotiate supplier agreements, pricing, terms, delivery expectations, and service requirements.
  • Identify, document, and execute cost-savings opportunities through supplier negotiations, sourcing strategies, market awareness, and process improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while holding suppliers accountable for quality, cost, delivery, and performance.
  • Partner with Operations and Production to support material availability, production continuity, and inventory planning.
  • Partner with Finance to support cost analysis, budgeting, purchase forecasting, working capital, documented savings, and margin improvement.
  • Track and report key purchasing metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, lead times, purchase price variance, and purchasing efficiency.
  • Lead, support, and develop the purchasing team.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen purchasing controls, visibility, communication, and overall effectiveness.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain leadership.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience with commodity purchasing, supplier negotiations, market pricing, and cost-management strategies.
  • Experience identifying and documenting measurable cost-savings opportunities.
  • Experience working within an ERP system.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work hands-on while also bringing a strategic, scalable approach to the purchasing function.
  • Ability to lead cross-functionally and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong business judgment, organizational skills, and follow-through.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation package, including base salary and bonus opportunity tied to documented savings
  • Hybrid work opportunity up to two days per week, based on business needs
  • Up to five weeks of paid time off annually, plus paid holidays
  • Comprehensive health and welfare benefits, including Life, Health, Dental, and Vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Career growth opportunities
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a long-standing manufacturing company as we continue to grow and move Grosfillex forward
