Gourmet Catering by Andrew is looking for a friendly, reliable Cook to join our café team in Newton. This hands-on role is perfect for someone who enjoys being part of a welcoming community space, takes pride in preparing fresh, simple meals, and thrives in a customer-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve light meals and beverages in a café setting
- Ensure all food is cooked and presented according to food safety and quality standards
- Greet guests and provide excellent service with a warm and inclusive attitude
- Keep the kitchen and service areas clean, organized, and well-stocked
- Follow all food handling and sanitation procedures
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a kitchen, café, or food service role preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable interacting with guests in a community-oriented café
- Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Available to work Sundays and follow the weekly schedule
- Must pass a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) check
- Commitment to fostering a respectful, inclusive café environment
Schedule:
Cook – Café Position (Full-Time)
Location: Newton, MA
Hourly Rate: $20–$24 per hour
- Monday–Thursday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Friday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Saturday: Closed
- Sunday: Required
