Job Description
This position involves loading trucks overnight to ensure they are ready to depart in the morning. Responsibilities include operating forklifts, side loaders, or overhead cranes, reading work orders, locating parts, and loading them onto trucks.
Responsibilities
- Complete basic, routine tasks with detailed instructions.
- Move inventory or equipment, fill customer orders, pull material from racks, unload incoming material, load trucks and/or customer vehicles, and help maintain the warehouse's upkeep.
- Receive and place/return items into stock inventory locations.
- Pull and assemble orders based on reviewing work/shipping orders or other documentation.
- Tag materials for proper identification and complete all required documentation.
- Move material from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas using forklift, side loader, or crane.
- Operate yard truck for loading and unloading trailers.
- Maintain work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
- Sort and place material on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, or product code.
- Conduct spot checks on inventory and complete daily or ad hoc checks for proper material tagging, as directed.
- Report any irregularities to the supervisor for direction.
- Restock materials.
- Occasionally drive a motor vehicle (non-DOT truck) for local deliveries and parts pick-ups.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 0-5 years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- High School diploma/GED preferred.
- Warehousing and material handling experience preferred.
- Manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions as applied to work situations.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Basic measurement skills, including taking, converting, and/or using measurements of length, width, height, and weight to perform basic math computations correctly.
- Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions.
- Basic computer proficiency and working knowledge of software applications required.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Ability to make sound decisions based on a combination of factors including knowledge, experience, and judgment.
- Ability to lift 100 pounds occasionally, 60 pounds repetitively.
- Ability to stand for sustained periods of time.
- Ability to push or pull 80 pounds of force.
- Ability to go up and down off truck trailers repeatedly.
- Employee is subject to temperatures in excess of 100 degrees F and below 32 degrees F.
- Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors and co-workers.

Work Environment
Non-climate controlled facility where employees must wear jeans or work pants. No shorts, sweats, or leggings are allowed. The shifts available are 1st shift (Monday - Friday, 6am-3:30pm) and 3rd shift (Sunday - Thursday, 9:30PM - 6AM).
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
