Job Description
Embark on a journey to become a skilled assembler through our comprehensive Assembly Training program. Over six months, you will gain valuable skills and experience to thrive in a variety of departments, including sealing and coating, while learning to interpret blueprints and utilize specialized tools. This program offers a structured progression with checkpoints to ensure your development and readiness for direct employment.
Responsibilities
- Participate in classroom training during the first week to understand foundational concepts.
- Shadow experienced employees in various departments during the second week.
- Engage in hands-on assembly work from the third week onwards.
- Perform general labor tasks using hand and power tools.
- Understand and apply mechanical assembly techniques.
- Operate machinery safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate in teams to assemble shelters and subassemblies.
- Inspect completed assemblies to ensure quality standards.
Work Environment
The work environment consists of multiple buildings on a single campus, with well-labeled departments and a security kiosk at the entrance. The facility is large and not climate-controlled, with moderate noise levels where hearing protection is optional. Employees will work on 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with variations possible. Steel toe boots, safety glasses, and long work pants are required. Expect to work in pairs or independently, with the ability to stand, sit, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods. Safety in the presence of hazardous chemicals and conditions is paramount.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.75 - $17.75/hr.
