Title: Test Technician
Location: 450 South Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46225
Job Description:
Manager Preference: 3+ years of experience with PCB assembly, modification, and repair, including soldering of surface-mount and through-hole components.
Position Overview: The Test Technician will perform skilled duties involving testing, troubleshooting, repair, harness building, operating and maintaining real-time simulators, PCB modifications, and calibration of equipment in the Electronics Lab. The technician will ensure equipment reliability, support engineering teams, and maintain high standards of safety and quality.
Key Accountabilities: Perform scheduled lab equipment maintenance to ensure all equipment remains in proper working condition. Perform product verification and validation testing. Diagnose electrical issues and determine corrective actions using wiring schematics, repair manuals, and part catalogs. Inspect and test equipment and components to identify malfunctions. Assist the Controls Engineer with developing, managing, and implementing engineering projects. Identify and implement improvements for test lab processes and fixtures. Support a safe, inclusive workplace where all team members value diversity and individual differences.
Basic Requirements: High School Diploma or GED, or an Associate degree with 2+ years of experience, or a Technical Degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of electronic test instruments and tools. Knowledge of inventory control and tracking methods. Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring guides. Strong electronic soldering and printed circuit board repair skills. Experience assembling electrical test and instrumentation equipment. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Relocation assistance is not available.
Preferred Requirements: Experience with IPC Electronics Manufacturing Acceptability Standards. Experience with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection. Experience with asset and facilities management. Strong problem-solving techniques and Root Cause Analysis skills. Familiarity with cable and harness fabrication and manual soldering.
