Custom Profile is a $65M custom plastic profile extrusion manufacturer headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan with three production facilities located in Grand Rapids, MI, Juarez, MX, and Camden, SC. We specialize in engineered profile solutions for industrial and medical customers requiring tight tolerances, material expertise, and reliable long-term production. The company currently does business with top OEM market players in multiple industrial market sectors.

As an Extrusion Operator, you will follow standard work methods and practice safe work habits to ensure our production is as efficient and safe as possible.

  • Packaging: Pack parts as required on each extrusion line following company specifications.
  • Quality Control: Inspect parts for surface quality, color, profile appearance, and dimensions; complete routine quality checks.
  • Documentation: Complete all necessary production and packaging paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Workplace Organization: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area by following daily housekeeping and 5S standards.
  • Teamwork: Promote a culture of continuous improvement, working collaboratively to make our plant a safer, more efficient, and enjoyable place to work.




Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands.
  • A positive attitude and a track record of personal dependability.

We are happy to train the right candidate! Experience in any of the following is a plus:

  • Basic computer skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic blueprint reading skills.
  • Familiarity with 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or Kanban environments.
  • Comfort using standard manufacturing and measurement tools, including:
    • Hand tools: Tape guns, staplers, and calculators.
    • Basic measuring: Tape measures, steel rules, and weigh scales.
    • Precision instruments: Calipers, comparators, protractors, laser gauges, warp gauges, and pro-scales.


  • Ability to stand in one place and perform continuous, repetitive movements for the duration of your shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Safety is our #1 priority: Safety glasses, ear protection, and closed-toe shoes must be worn at all times on the production floor.
