Key Responsibilities of the RN – PCU:

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring and intermediate-level care
Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions including vital signs and cardiac rhythms
Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed
Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans
Respond quickly to changes in patient conditions and escalate care when necessary
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
Maintain accurate patient documentation in accordance with hospital policies
Ensure adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols

Requirements:

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state license
Minimum 1–2 years of recent PCU or step-down unit experience
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Strong critical thinking and patient assessment skills
Experience with cardiac monitoring and telemetry preferred
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
