Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract opportunity is available for an experienced School Counselor to support high school students for the coming academic year. Full-time hours will be offered within a welcoming school environment, providing guidance and counseling services to students as they navigate academic and personal development challenges. The assignment will begin in late August and continue through early June, allowing you to make an impact throughout the entire school year.
Qualifications:
- Current Michigan teaching certificate with SCHOOL COUNSELOR (NT) K-12 endorsement.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, as well as required certification.
- Previous experience teaching or counseling high school students is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of educational concepts and counseling best practices.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Provide academic, career, and personal guidance to high school students.
- Develop and implement student support plans and intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to address students’ needs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records as required.
- Guide students through college readiness, career planning, and post-graduation preparation.
- Lead or participate in various school programs and counseling initiatives.
