Quality Control Technician
Job Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt
Schedule: Monday to Thursday - 6 am to 4:30 pm
Starting Wage: $22.50/hr - flexible based on experience
Location: 2320 Western Ave, Las Vegas, NV
Who You Are:
You're a detail-oriented, quality-driven professional with a passion for laboratory science and a keen eye for precision. As a Quality Control/HPLC Lab Technician, you play a crucial role in ensuring that every Curaleaf product meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
In this role, you'll be the guardian of quality, overseeing the entire process for cannabis product testing. You'll be responsible for compiling and verifying batch records, confirming product quality requirements, and ensuring compliance with company and state regulations. Working cross-functionally with teams such as Quality, Compliance, Operations, and Cultivation, you'll help maintain and continuously improve processes that align with SOPs, GMPs, food safety guidelines, and established quality standards.
Your day-to-day will include preparing, extracting, and testing samples from Processing, Cultivation, and R&D. Your expertise in HPLC systems and laboratory equipment will be instrumental in maintaining accuracy and efficiency in testing procedures.
What You'll Do:

Quality Assurance & Compliance

Conduct inspections, audits, and verifications to ensure traceability, product quality, and regulatory compliance.

Perform environmental monitoring, equipment calibrations, and sanitation checks.

Maintain accurate documentation, batch records, and compliance reports.

Process & Equipment Monitoring
-
Oversee sampling, product specifications, and changeovers to ensure consistency.

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab equipment, including HPLC diagnostics and calibrations.

Assist in preventive maintenance and material safety compliance.

Continuous Improvement & Training
-
Identify and implement quality control improvements.

Investigate discrepancies, advise operators, and ensure resolutions.

Train technicians and collaborate with departments for efficient operations.

Laboratory & Regulatory Operations
-
Maintain inventory, organize lab spaces, and manage waste disposal per regulations.

Perform lab analyses, documentation, and data processing.
-
Ensure full compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations.

What You'll Bring:
-
High school diploma or GED required.
-
Minimum of one year of QA/QC experience in a laboratory or production environment, with expertise in HPLC, particularly Agilent equipment and ChemStation.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot lab equipment and resolve technical issues.

Basic arithmetic skills to calculate weights, fills, and analyze test results.

Proficiency in computer operations, including keyboarding, data entry, and standard functions.

Knowledge of organic and inorganic chemistry.

Manual dexterity to manipulate controls and assemble/disassemble equipment using hand tools.

Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, reading gauges, and understanding control systems.

Excellent accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.

Fluent in English to read and understand manuals, maintain written records, and communicate effectively in a complex process environment.

Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Ability to work independently and collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment.

Strong commitment to safety procedures and regulatory compliance.

You have a degree in analytical chemistry or similar/related field

You have analytical instrumentation (HPLC) experience
-
You have working knowledge of the Cannabis manufacturing process, typically resulting from a minimum of one-year experience in related jobs (e.g., gummy, candy or confectionery manufacturing)
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk or hear, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger or feel, climb and balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and lift up to 50 lbs.
This position requires close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
This position has allergen warnings - potential exposure to dust, pollen, and plant pathogens. Requires exposure to cleaning solvents, such as high volumes of isopropyl alcohol. Requires daily use of provided PPE, such as masks, hair nets, beard covers, respirators, boot covers, scrubs, non-slip shoes, and Tyvek suits as necessary. Has exposure to loud noises, including but not limited to air compressors, packaging equipment, and alarms. Has exposure to CO2 manufacturing procedures at OSHA approved CO2 levels. Requires a high-stress tolerance, adaptability, and flexibility. Ability to work in an ever-changing environment.
