Lucy School, an arts-integrated independent school nestled on a beautiful rural campus near Frederick, Maryland, is seeking a passionate and dynamic Science Teacher for Grades 5 through 8. Key Responsibilities:
-> Teach science to students in Grades 58, including life, physical, and earth sciences

-> Develop and implement hands-on, inquiry-based lessons that connect with real-world concepts

-> Collaborate with colleagues to integrate science with other disciplines (especially the arts)

-> Create a supportive and engaging classroom culture that encourages curiosity, experimentation, and respectful discussion

-> Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative approaches

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in science, science education, or a related field (Masters preferred)
• Teaching experience with upper elementary and/or middle school students
• Knowledge of and enthusiasm for progressive, student-centered teaching approaches
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• A flexible, collaborative spirit and love of nature and the arts
