Instructional Aide (Per Diem) Lees Summit, MO

A school district in Lees Summit, MO is seeking compassionate Instructional Aides to provide one-on-one and small group support to students in a structured classroom setting. These per diem, as-needed roles offer flexible schedules based on school coverage needs, ideal for professionals who want to make a meaningful impact in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students academically, behaviorally, and socially within the classroom
  • Provide individualized or small-group assistance as directed by teachers and staff
  • Assist students with daily routines, transitions, and classroom participation
  • Implement behavior support plans and follow Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) when applicable
  • Support mobility, supervision, and personal care needs
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to pass TB test (per school district requirements)
  • Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as needed
  • Current educator certification and background clearances, or willingness to obtain prior to start

Preferred Experience:

  • Work experience in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care settings
  • Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
  • Training or certification such as CPI, PMT, or RBT is a plus but not required
  • Reliable, patient, and a collaborative mindset
