We are currently searching for a Glazing Fabricator Level 1 who will be responsible for safely and accurately setting up the equipment and performing the operations needed to handle, drill, notch, weather-strip, and package components and subassemblies. Fabricators work from design specifications, patterns, and drawings, using a variety of tools and machines to make metal parts and/or perform some assembly within the company quality manual standards.

Responsibilities:

• Show integrity; doing the right thing even when no one is looking.
• Safely and securely move required materials through the various stages of the product life cycle as outlined in the process workflow. This is completed under direction of the department supervisor.
• Properly setup the equipment/machinery, perform any required pre-operational inspections of the equipment and verify that:
  1. All safety devices and measures are active and in place.
  2. The equipment/machine is operating properly.
  3. All gages, stops, etc. are working properly to ensure that the parts will be processed in accordance with the QC and design requirements.
• Position metal components against dimensional stops, secure with clamping systems, and perform the operation designated by the work center.
• Perform the required QC check on each component to ensure that it complies with the design and drawing specifications by conducting visual and dimensional examinations.
• Ensure that all counts of finished products are correct and marked or tagged with the proper identifying marks, as required.
• Report any defective parts to the area Supervisor.
• Properly stack and secure all fabricated glazing and/or assembled parts with the drawings and appropriate labels and deliver to the next workstation, as defined by the process workflow.
• Maintain attendance that is in line with the current company policy for absenteeism.
• Report all Hazard Observations and Hazard ID’s through the local EHS representative or reporting software.
• Report all quality/compliance concerns through the local Quality/Compliance representative and your supervisor.
• Always maintain a clean and safe work area.

Qualifications:

• 0-2 years related work experience in a related trade, as well as a basic knowledge of the different types of fabrication equipment.
• Intermediate knowledge and experience in safely operating punching, notching, drilling and other forming machinery.
• Intermediate math skills. Ability to accurately add and record counts of materials transferred from one work center to another.
• Intermediate ability to use and understand basic measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers and angle finders.
• Intermediate ability to interpret manufacturing drawings.
• Intermediate ability to count accurately and record production data.
• Ability to work extended hours/over-time when needed as well as some Saturdays.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
• Must have good eyesight, including depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to differentiate shapes, sizes, and colors.
• Ability to use hands to finger, handle and feel.
• Ability to frequently sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to reach within hands and arm’s length, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
