The Healing Haven is currently seeking a full time Occupational Therapist to provide assessment and treatment for children with physical and cognitive impairments. Our one-of-a-kind campus in Madison Heights includes four different clinics each designed to serve the specific needs of children and young adults through every stage of life. We believe in treating the family as a whole, and as such siblings and parents are often incorporated into our therapy. Our unique services include a 3-month parent training clinic, speech therapy, occupational therapy, autism diagnostic testing and assessment, after school center-based services and day-time center-based services. The Occupational Therapy department targets an array of motor, daily living, and play skills to improve quality of life and promote independence. Job Responsibilities Include:
- Implementing assessments for program placement
- Implementing assessments to measure progress
- Developing curriculum
- Supervising programs
- Creating and implementing customized occupational therapy plans with ongoing data analysis to modify as necessary
- Facilitating parent meetings/ parent training to ensure consistency between the home and clinic
- Collaborating with multiple professionals to ensure consistency and quality of care
- Writing reports and collaborating with payors to maintain authorizations
- Staying current with research and new methodologies
Job Requirements Include:
- Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
- 1+ years of experience as Occupational Therapist
- Current and unrestricted State of MI Occupational Therapist License
- Knowledge of behavior analysis and autism preferred, not required
- Maintain caseload of billable hours
- A fun and compassionate disposition with an open mind geared toward learning
- Managerial experience is a plus, but not required
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Willingness to lead with a positive attitude even in times of stress
- Credentialed to bill insurances (Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Care Network, Aetna/Cofinity, Cigna, Priority, Beacon Health Options, HAP, United) highly preferred but not required.
