Job Description
We are seeking a Construction Project Manager with the ability to manage multiple projects of varying sizes within construction settings. The ideal candidate will be adept at producing and executing project schedules, coordinating with teams, analyzing subcontractor and supplier scopes, and performing complete construction estimates. This role requires effective communication with team members, owners, and architects, as well as the ability to maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, management, field staff, and subcontractors.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple construction projects simultaneously.
- Produce and execute project schedules with milestones and critical paths.
- Perform accurate subcontractor and supplier scope analysis.
- Accurately estimate construction costs and present them to customers.
- Review and approve invoices.
- Provide precise communication to team members, owners, and architects.
- Coordinate weekly progress meetings and manage project budgets.
- Validate time and expenses to stay within budget and track work performance.
- Maintain effective relationships with customers, management, field staff, and subcontractors.
- Read, comprehend, and implement project drawings and specifications.
- Provide accurate and timely submittals for approval.
- Follow organizational processes, reporting, and risk mitigation measures.
- Engage in industry networking events and continuing education.
- Manage existing and develop new customer relationships.
Essential Skills
- 3-5 years of direct construction experience is preferred.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems.
- Ability to initiate and coordinate activities independently.
- Experience in construction management, general contracting, commercial construction, estimation, change orders, and scheduling.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in construction project management.
- Experience as a general contractor.
Work Environment
The work environment includes a full-service commercial general contractor providing services across various sectors such as Corporate Workplace, Private Education, Multi-Housing, Building Repurposing, Hospitality, and Healthcare/Wellness. The role primarily involves site work, with office duties located downtown. Work hours are Monday to Friday, from 7/8 AM to 5 PM. Appropriate attire includes jeans, work boots, and suitable sweatshirts or t-shirts. The Des Moines office has been operational since 2020.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $115000.00/hr.
