Position Summary

We’re seeking a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and support automation and control systems for advanced manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on technical ability with a desire to learn, collaborate, and contribute to process improvement in a fast-paced engineering environment.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer with several years of experience who’s ready to take on more ownership of project design, programming, and implementation — while working alongside a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and debug automation and process control systems for industrial equipment.
  • Support the creation of master plans, automation strategies, and system configurations.
  • Develop and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and logic systems.
  • Program and debug PLC and HMI systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, B&R, etc.).
  • Design interface circuitry and determine power and load requirements.
  • Implement and maintain design standards, change control, and documentation.
  • Assist with system testing, quality verification, and performance validation.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, and controls engineers to integrate solutions.
  • Identify and resolve equipment performance issues through root-cause analysis.
  • Recommend vendors, components, and automation technologies for new designs.
  • Contribute to design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and technical problem-solving.
  • Support equipment and material test studies and ensure safe, compliant designs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls, or manufacturing systems.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC programming, HMI development, and control integration.
  • Knowledge of electromechanical systems and automation hardware.
  • Understanding of UL, CSA, CE, and applicable electrical codes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, Autodesk Inventor, or SolidWorks.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Experience working in or with machine shop environments (welding, milling, turning, sheet metal) preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $80,000–$95,000 DOE
  • Full medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Paid vacation and holidays
  • Professional development and advancement opportunities

Why This Role

You’ll join a collaborative team designing automation solutions that shape the future of precision manufacturing. This is a hands-on engineering role with the opportunity to grow into senior-level leadership or project ownership positions over time.
