Location: Long Island City, NY
Job Type: Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday (Weekends Required)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Hours: Part-time / 5 days per week

Job Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Telemetry Technician responsible for continuous cardiac monitoring, ECG interpretation, and identification of life-threatening arrhythmias in an acute care hospital setting. The role requires strong attention to detail, rapid response to rhythm changes, and collaboration with nursing and clinical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform continuous ECG and cardiac rhythm monitoring

  • Analyze ECG strips and identify arrhythmias and critical rhythm changes

  • Respond promptly to monitor alarms and escalate critical findings

  • Assist in initiating emergency response codes when necessary

  • Record and document cardiac rhythms during codes and clinical events

  • Perform electrocardiograms with correct electrode placement

  • Communicate clearly with charge nurses, physicians, and clinical staff

  • Enter and verify orders in the electronic medical record system

  • Retrieve and relay laboratory results to appropriate clinical staff

  • Ensure accurate documentation in compliance with hospital standards

  • Operate and troubleshoot telemetry and monitoring equipment

  • Maintain patient safety through continuous cardiac observation

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Previous telemetry or ECG monitoring experience preferred

  • Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms and arrhythmia interpretation

  • Ability to respond quickly to critical patient changes

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to work in a high-acuity hospital environment

  • Basic computer and EMR skills preferred
