Job Description
A private investment firm focused on direct investments in smaller businesses is seeking an experienced finance and operations professional to join its team on a part-time basis. This opportunity is ideal for someone who has built a strong career in accounting and is now seeking a flexible, hybrid work arrangement.

The Role

This is a part-time W-2 position, approximately 2 to 3 days per week, with some seasonal variability. You will work directly with senior leadership, operate with a high degree of autonomy, and serve as a key resource for the firm’s day-to-day financial and operational functions.

Responsibilities:

- Manage company accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and monthly bank reconciliations
- Manage payroll processing and related recordkeeping
- Coordinate with outside vendors and service providers, including HR and benefits providers, insurance carriers, tax accountants, and legal counsel
- Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records that meet institutional standards
- Support investor financial reporting and respond to investor-related inquiries in coordination with third-party administrators
- Manage expense reimbursements and provide light administrative and operational support to senior leadership

What We Are Looking For
\n
- \n
- 10+ years of accounting experience, ideally within private funds, investment management, financial services, family offices, or a similar environment
- Proficiency in QuickBooks
- Strong knowledge of AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and payroll
- Exceptional attention to detail and discretion when handling confidential financial information
- Ability to take ownership and work independently with minimal supervision
- Based in the greater Fairfield County area and able to work a hybrid schedule
- Prior experience working with regulated investment structures is a plus, but not required
