JOB TITLE: Manufacturing CAD Fabricator
JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a highly skilled Manufacturing CAD Fabricator to join our custom airboat and mudboat production team. This role blends advanced CAD design with hands-on fabrication, supporting the creation of high-performance, custom-built boats. The ideal candidate will be experienced in aluminum fabrication, marine-grade materials, and CAD/CAM software, with a passion for precision and craftsmanship.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- 3 years of experience in fabrication and CAD design, preferably in marine or custom vehicle industries
- At least 1 year of experience reading a tape measure, identifying and measuring material
- At least 1 year of experience using weld fillet gauges to ensure proper weld size and interpret tolerances
- Must be able to up to lift 50lbs unassisted
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience with CAM software and CNC machine operation
- Experience with CNC Router Programming and operation, cutting aluminum a bonus
- Experience with 2D or 3D scanning equipment and software
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and marine schematics
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Technical certification or associate degree in fabrication, mechanical design, or related field preferred
CORE DUTIES
- Operate Proliner scanning system to capture accurate measurements and convert scan data into usable CAD/CAM files
- Design and modify 2D/3D CAD models for custom aluminum boat components, including hulls, decks, and accessories
- Translate CAD designs into CAM programs for CNC router and plasma cutting, bending, and machining
- Collaborate with engineering, rigging, and paint teams to ensure seamless integration of components
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and customer specifications to produce accurate, high-quality parts
- Assist in prototyping new designs and custom builds for specialty applications (e.g., rescue, hunting, tourism)
- Maintain fabrication equipment and ensure a clean, safe work environment
- Document design changes and fabrication processes for future reference and continuous improvement
HOURS
- 1st shift position
- Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- Overtime as needed
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates that accept an offer of employment will be required to pass a background and drug screen. Candidates must also meet ATF requirements for firearm possession.
