Job Title: Night Shift Psych RN - 3x12 Hour Shifts

Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with a specialization in Psychiatric Intensive Care to join our dynamic healthcare team. This position offers a night shift schedule, working 3 shifts of 12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30, with a focus on providing high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients with acute behavioral health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to psychiatric patients, including both voluntary and involuntary admissions.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the EPIC charting system.
- Monitor and manage patient conditions, administering medications and interventions as prescribed.
- Engage in patient and family education to promote understanding of treatments and resources.
- Participate in weekend coverage as required, with a patient ratio of 1:5 during the day and 1:10 at night (infrequent).
Qualifications:
- Current NJ or Compact RN License (required at the time of submission).
- Minimum of two years of experience in Psychiatric Intensive Care.
- BLS certification is mandatory; CPI certification is a plus.
- Experience with ECT is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Unit Details:
- Daily patient census: approximately 15.
- Unit capacity: 19 beds (12 voluntary, 7 involuntary).
- Services offered: ECT, with an average length of stay of 6 days.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including booster shots, with medical or religious exemptions considered.
- Annual flu vaccination is required, with the possibility for medical or religious exemptions.
- RTO (Requested Time Off) to be submitted at the time of application.
- Solid color scrubs or business casual attire required.
Compliance and Background Checks:
- Facility requires a TABB background check and completion of unit-based competency, medication, and EKG testing through the agency.
- A passing score of 80% is required for competency testing, with one attempt allowed.
