Prequalification's
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Welding Technology, Manufacturing Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in industrial fabrication, structural steel fabrication, pipe fabrication, pressure vessel fabrication, or heavy industrial manufacturing.
- Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or management experience leading fabrication shop operations.
Required Experience
- Experience managing fabrication shop operations, production scheduling, workforce planning, and shop resources.
- Strong understanding of structural steel, pipe, pressure vessel, modular fabrication, and miscellaneous steel fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, Bills of Material (BOMs), weld symbols, customer specifications, and engineering documents.
- Working knowledge of welding processes, fabrication methods, quality control requirements, and applicable industry codes.
- Experience coordinating Engineering, Procurement, QA/QC, Project Management, Logistics, and Production teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Leadership & Operations
- Manage the daily operations of the fabrication shop while maintaining a safe, productive, and quality-driven work environment.
- Supervise fabrication supervisors, foremen, welders, fitters, helpers, material handlers, and other shop personnel.
- Plan, assign, direct, coach, and evaluate employees while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
- Promote a culture where safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and teamwork remain top priorities.
Production Management
- Develop and manage fabrication schedules to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with customer specifications.
- Coordinate daily production activities to maximize labor utilization, equipment efficiency, and shop capacity.
- Monitor fabrication progress, labor productivity, earned versus actual hours, and overall shop performance.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and meet delivery commitments.
Engineering, Procurement & Materials
- Coordinate with Engineering to review fabrication drawings, Bills of Material (BOMs), RFIs, revisions, and constructability issues.
- Coordinate with Procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials, fabricated components, and specialty equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels, material shortages, long-lead items, and production constraints affecting fabrication schedules.
Quality & Customer Support
- Ensure fabrication activities comply with customer specifications and applicable industry codes, including AWS, ASME, API, and AISC, as applicable.
- Work closely with QA/QC to coordinate inspections, testing, weld documentation, material traceability, turnover packages, and customer deliverables.
- Maintain professional relationships with customers, vendors, inspectors, subcontractors, and internal departments.
Financial & Administrative
- Monitor labor costs, overtime, production budgets, and material utilization.
- Review production reports, labor hours, schedules, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve operational performance.
- Participate in estimating reviews, production planning, constructability discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate production records, schedules, reports, and required documentation.
General
- Notify management and promptly address safety hazards, quality concerns, production risks, and schedule impacts.
- Operate computers, tablets, mobile devices, and software required to perform assigned responsibilities.
- Follow all Company policies and procedures.
- Obtain certifications required by the Company or Client, including but not limited to OSHA, First Aid, CPR, Annual OSHA Training, PEC, H2S, BBP, Site Orientations, Operator Qualifications, and other required training.
- Work extended hours, weekends, and additional shifts as necessary to support fabrication schedules and customer requirements.
