POSITION:
Landscape Technician/Laborer
SUMMARY:
The landscape technician/laborer follows the direction of his/her crew leader, helping to provide first-class service to clients.
COMPENSATION:
$18 - $22 per hour – Based on experience/performance
SCHEDULE:
The typical landscape schedule is as follows:
Daily: 7:00 am – 5:30 pm. Includes (2) 15 minute paid breaks and (1) 30 minute unpaid lunch.
Weekly: Monday – Thursday. Must be available to work Friday as a make-up day for poor weather/site conditions on regular work days.
Yearly: Approximately 32 weeks from mid-April to mid-November.
Notes: Hours may vary as needed.
Overtime hours will be available, although not required, when the schedule and workload permit.
Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day will be paid holidays (8 hours).
An attempt will be made to give advance notice for days cancelled due to weather.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Michigan chauffeur license or the ability to acquire
- Transportation to and from work every day
- A grasp of proper use and handling for a variety of tools/equipment, or a willingness to learn
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks on a daily basis, including:
- Lift and move heavy objects (up to 100lbs.) from one location to another
- Be on one’s feet for an entire work day without sitting down
DUTIES:
Landscape technician/laborer’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist crew leader in keeping a safe and organized work site
- Display a level of professionalism and integrity that positively represents GREENSTONE
- Install landscape elements, focusing on both quality and efficiency
- Load and unload tools, equipment and materials for jobs
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on tools and equipment
