This position ensures all deliveries and material pickups are completed on time and in compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety standards.This position is Monday – Friday, no weekends required. Local and Regional Deliveries.
- Operate company trucks to transport goods locally or regionally based on daily delivery schedules.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual methods as required.
- Ensure products are properly secured and protected for transport.
- Verify delivery documentation, including bills of lading, shipping manifests, and delivery receipts.
- Inspect vehicles before and after trips; report and document any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
- Maintain accurate driving logs and comply with DOT regulations, including hours of service and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers regarding delivery status or issues.
- Assist in general warehouse or shipping operations when not driving, such as staging shipments or organizing materials.
- Follow all safety protocols, traffic laws, and company policies while operating vehicles.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures including Health, Safety and Quality Assurance policies.
- Report injuries, accidents, near misses or unsafe conditions to a Supervisor or Manager immediately.
- Other duties as assigned
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be 21 years or older
- Ability to pass DOT physical & drug screen
- Valid driver's license (clean MVR)
- Current DOT medical card (Preferred)
- Experience with flatbeds, box trucks, or tractor-trailers as applicable.
- Forklift certification a plus (or willingness to obtain).
- Good communication and time management skills.
- Ability to complete basic paperwork and operate vehicle GPS or route management tools.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Sitting for extended periods while driving.
- Frequent climbing in and out of truck cabs and trailers.
- Bending, stooping, and reaching when loading or unloading cargo.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Driving in various weather and road conditions.
- Working in and around loading docks, warehouses, and industrial yards.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations when outside of the vehicle.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) where applicable.
