Administrative Assistant for the office of Evangelization and Catechesis
The Administrative Assistant for the office of Evangelization and Catechesis (OEC) is a key member of the Chancery staff who supports the Church in making missionary disciples by assisting in the coordination, communication, and execution of ministry activities. Rooted in a culture of prayer, mercy, professionalism and unity, this role contributes to the broader diocesan vision of ensuring that every person has an opportunity to encounter the love of Jesus. The OEC includes Catechetical Ministry, Youth & Young Adult Ministry, Hispanic Ministry, Catholic Schools, and Family Life Ministries. The Administrative Assistant will report directly to the Vicar for Evangelization and Catechesis and serve as a shared resource to the other Directors.
PRIORITY OF SERVICE
Primary Focus: Work closely with the Administrative Assistant to the Vicar for Evangelization and Catechesis in the implementation of a unified vision for the OEC.
Secondary Focus: Support the Director of Catechetical Ministry and the Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministry.
Tertiary Focus: Support the Director of Hispanic Ministry and the volunteers associated with Family Life Ministries.
Additional Tasks: Other administrative tasks as assigned by the Vicar to support the unified vision of the OEC. Assist Catholic Schools as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS
- Practicing Catholic committed to the Church’s mission of evangelization and catechesis
- Organized, dependable, and efficient with time and priorities
- Able to multitask and manage multiple calendars and deadlines across departments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of learning diocesan systems
- Experience with graphic design platforms (e.g., Canva) is a plus
- Discreet professionalism in handling confidential information
- Team player with a collaborative spirit
- Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred
- Willing to work occasional evenings/weekends for ministry events
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited American university or equivalent in a foreign country, preferred
- Must have a valid Texas driver’s license
- Must be compliant with DOV Safe Environment and Transportation policy
