Job Summary

The Contract Accountant will assist the Sr. Accountant with Period End Close and Audit requirements. This position will be mostly focused on performing balance sheet reconciliations within Excel using the ERP and supporting systems data. Other responsibilities might include, journal entries, accruals, excel workbook improvements to better current processes, etc.

This position requires strong Excel skills including the ability to perform advanced functions such as Tables, Pivot Tables, V Lookups, and X Lookups. The candidate should also have an understanding of accounting concepts, GAAP and monthly close deadlines. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, professional, and capable of managing their workloads and possess the ability to efficiently interact with various groups across the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Including but not limited to:

  • Support Month-End close activities, including assisting in accurate closing of the accounting systems and records.
  • Analyze and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts, assist in preparing general ledger entries and adjustments of AR/AP, Interco, etc.
  • Enhance current excel workbooks to improve efficiency
  • Support Sr Accountant with activities such as reconciliations, internal and external audits, reports for bankers, etc.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience Required

  • Intermediate/Advanced Proficiency in MS Excel, including lookups and pivot tables.
  • Knowledge of Core ERP Software and ADP a plus, or willingness to learn quickly.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, analytical, and process improvement skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Work ethic that exudes integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
  • High attention to detail; ability to multi-task, as well as prioritize and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to contribute individually and as a team.

Contract Duration: 3-month contract assignment
