Inventory Control Manager | Walker, MI

Salary Range: $73,000 - $112,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices to maintain accuracy.
  • Oversee and execute regular cycle counting and physical inventory activities.
  • Monitor inventory levels to optimize stock, minimize obsolescence, and prevent material shortages.
  • Analyze inventory data, identify discrepancies, and report on key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with production, purchasing, and logistics to align inventory with manufacturing schedules and demand.
  • Manage and train inventory control staff, ensuring adherence to established processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for inventory management systems and processes.

Recommended Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in inventory management or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics) and inventory management software.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, forecast demand, and optimize inventory levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing inventory control processes, cycle counting programs, and warehouse optimization strategies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage a team and collaborate effectively with production, procurement, and logistics departments.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Experience with advanced data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
  • Proven experience in the implementation or optimization of WMS/ERP modules
