Position Summary:

The Senior Human Resources Generalist provides strategic leadership for innovative talent acquisition, company-wide ATS operations, ensuring scalable, compliant, and consistent recruitment practices across all locations. This role serves as a key partner in employee relations for Minnesota and contributes to long-term workforce planning through aligning talent pipelines with organizational needs. Additional responsibilities include managing HRIS data, DOT compliance, unemployment processes, and supporting leave administration and recognition initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

ATS Leadership & Talent Acquisition

  • Lead company-wide management of the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), including workflows, user access, system improvements, and troubleshooting across all locations.
  • Train and support new users across departments to ensure consistent, compliant use of the ATS for both full-time and seasonal hiring.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that promote efficiency and standardization in recruitment practices.
  • Partner with the HR Manager to enhance recruiting strategies, focusing on innovation in recruitment practices.
  • Identify and implement improvements to attract diverse, high-quality talent through modern, aligned recruiting methods.
  • Collaborate closely with the HR Coordinator – Operations on recruitment-related projects and initiatives.

Employee Relations & Workforce Support

  • Partner with the HR Manager to lead employee relations in Minnesota, providing guidance on performance, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions aligned with our people-first values and compliance standards.
  • Foster a respectful, inclusive workplace by supporting leaders in addressing employee concerns with fairness and integrity.

Seasonal Workforce & H-2A Program Strategy

  • Provide company-wide oversight of seasonal workforce recruitment to ensure consistent and compliant practices across all locations.
  • Collaborate with HR Generalists at each location to ensure local recruitment and onboarding processes align with company standards.
  • Support the H-2A program through strategic planning and cross-location coordination.

Other Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain DOT driver files and manage compliance with random drug and alcohol testing requirements.
  • Ensure all personnel records and documentation meet state and federal employment regulations.
  • Maintain accurate employee data in the HRIS and ensure timely, compliant updates.
  • Administer I-9 and E-Verify processes company-wide (to be transitioned into ADP).
  • Support documentation and improvements of HR processes across Midwest operations.
  • Support leave of absence and ADA accommodation processes with proper documentation and employee communication.
  • Collaborate with the HR Manager on recognition programs and internal communication workflows.
  • Support the administration of Workers’ Compensation claims, DOT compliance, and other Workforce Safety duties.

Required Qualifications:

  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources with an emphasis on recruitment and employee support.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in HR project management – leadership and execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of HR laws (FMLA, ADA, wage & hour, etc.) and HRIS systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet Company criteria for insurability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HR Certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred.
  • Experience in agriculture or seasonal workforce management.
  • Familiarity with process improvement or change management.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • On-site work with prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Occasional out-state-travel to worksites may be required.
  • Primarily an indoor office environment with occasional field presence during onboarding or audits.
