POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounting Clerk supports the dealership’s financial operations by performing daily accounting and administrative tasks with accuracy, professionalism, and integrity. Responsibilities include accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, documentation management, and communication with other departments to ensure smooth financial workflows.
This position requires a fast-paced, solution-oriented professional who values teamwork, clear communication, and continuous improvement. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting & Financial Operations:
• Process accounts payable and receivable accurately and on time.
• Assist with cash reconciliations, deposits, and general ledger accuracy.
• Maintain and clean up account schedules; prepare and distribute financial reports.
• Process billing and posting of swap cars and other dealer transactions.
• Monitor funding documents and communicate returned contracts or missing items to Sales Management and Controller.
• Support month-end close with reconciliations and reporting as directed.

Administrative & Interdepartmental Support:
• Sort, distribute, and manage incoming mail and invoices.
• Scan, upload, and organize deal and accounting documents in the digital filing system.
• Maintain orderly physical and electronic files for accuracy and compliance.
• Work closely with Sales, Service, and Parts teams to resolve discrepancies and improve accounting flow.
• Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience:
• bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; or 2-5+ years of equivalent accounting experience-preferably automotive accounting
• Strong knowledge of accounting fundamentals and dealership operations preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Technical Proficiency:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with dealership management systems (DMS) and accounting software preferred.
• Familiar with digital filing systems and document scanning tools.

Certificates/Licenses:
• Accounting/Bookkeeping certificate desired, but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Mostly Sedentary Work: Primarily seated, with frequent movement for filing, reaching, and document handling.
• Requires regular use of hands, arms, and upper body for filing and organizing records.
• Frequent computer and phone use in a busy office environment.
• Occasional lifting of files, boxes, or office supplies up to 10 lbs.
