SM7155 - BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST (Revised)

JOB FUNCTION:
The Business Development Specialist is responsible for supporting revenue growth in the Industrial Water markets. This position focuses on providing technical and administrative support to the sales team, as well as managing aftermarket opportunities. Aftermarket opportunity leads will be generated by the outside sales team, and the Business Development Specialist will handle sourcing, pricing, proposal preparation, and order processing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assist with technical review of proposed solutions, providing revisions, alternatives, and support as necessary.
2. Maintain online contractor management databases.
3. Support the creation, review, and management of all quotes and proposals for accuracy and completeness.
4. Manage aftermarket inquiries received through the outside sales team.
5. Source parts and materials from approved vendors, obtain pricing and lead times, and provide draft proposals.
6. Upon award, process and track orders through delivery, communicating updates to the outside sales team.
7. Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and operations teams to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
8. Maintain consistent and professional communication with internal stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction through accurate execution.
9. Attend trade shows and training sessions as required to support Industrial Water initiatives.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide feedback and support to MPW sales and operations so quality of service remains high for all MPW customers.
2. Recognize and communicate new markets, products, and services that MPW could offer to our customers.
3. Willing to travel (up to 30 nights annually).

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Sales, Marketing, or Technical discipline preferred.
2. Strong technical/mechanical aptitude with understanding of industrial water treatment systems.
3. Ability to prepare accurate quotes and proposals with attention to detail.
4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
5. Experience using CRM systems for tracking and managing opportunities.
