Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Saint Louis, Missouri. This is a long-term contract opportunity designed for someone who is detail oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of financial accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing general ledger activities, month-end processes, and financial reporting while collaborating closely with leadership and operations.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily general ledger operations, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Manage and execute month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and maintain financial records in compliance with established accounting standards.
• Support accounting for project-based expenses and software development initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Controller to facilitate knowledge transfer during transitional periods.
• Ensure the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to support compliance requirements.
• Partner with leadership and operational teams to deliver financial insights and analysis.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency within accounting functions.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Deltek software to streamline accounting processes.• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting roles, with a focus on general ledger activities and reconciliations.
• Strong proficiency in managing month-end close processes and journal entries.
• Advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
• Experience with accounting software, with Deltek expertise considered a significant advantage.
• Solid understanding of financial compliance and internal control practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and communicate financial insights clearly.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
