Job DescriptionFarley's East has been an Oakland fixture for 16 years. We are committed to uplifting the community not only through our thoughtfully-prepared and ethically-sourced coffee, tea, and food offerings, but through our passion for personal connections, our quarterly non-profit events and our support of local artists. It is with this spirit of community that we put out the call for a new barista to join our team!
We are looking for self-starters who have barista experience at third-wave coffee establishments, enjoy working in a fast-paced, cooperative environment, and want to be part of a team in a fun, community-focused coffeehouse and have an interest in growing with the business. We offer health insurance options, flexible scheduling, one-on-one training and learning, and opportunity for advancement within Farley's.
Applicants should have the following:
- Superior barista skills with an interest in the coffee industry
- The ability to taste and describe coffee to customers, dial in espresso according to third-wave standards and properly steam/pour milk
- Interest in finding an organization where there is the opportunity for growth and advancement
- Customer service excellence with ability to be in relationship with the customers who are our neighbors
- Great attention to detail and ability to closely follow direction
- MUST BE AVAILABLE AT LEAST ONE WEEKEND DAY
