Position Summary

The HR Generalist I plays a critical role in supporting new hires across the organization. This position guides candidates through the onboarding journey, ensures all compliance requirements are met, and delivers a seamless, positive New Hire Experience. You’ll partner closely with hiring managers, recruiters, and HR leadership in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and exceptional customer service are essential.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Some experience in Human Resources required

  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred:

  • Interest in working in a fast-paced HR environment

  • Experience in child welfare (a plus, not required)

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires, guiding them from offer acceptance through orientation

  • Initiate consistent, proactive communication to ensure new hires feel informed, supported, and welcomed

  • Manage onboarding for 200+ new hires annually

  • Collect, track, and verify all required compliance documentation (background checks, licensing, registry checks, etc.)

  • Process and maintain accurate new hire records in ADP Onboarding

  • Monitor onboarding progress and provide regular updates to hiring managers and HR leaders

  • Coordinate and support New Hire Experience events, ensuring a professional and engaging orientation process

  • Complete and verify I-9 documentation in compliance with federal regulations

  • Partner with state licensing agencies to resolve compliance-related items

  • Prepare documentation for audits and ensure ongoing compliance readiness

  • Support additional HR functions such as employment verifications, badge creation, and office supply management
