Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-semester contract position is for a Special Education Teacher specializing in behavior strategies within an onsite elementary school program. The role focuses on supporting students, primarily those with Emotional Behavioral Disorders, in a cross-categorical setting. Ideal candidates will have strong problem-solving skills and experience implementing behavioral strategies for approximately 8-10 students.

Location: Burnsville, MN
Duration: January 5 June 4, 2026
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Setting: Onsite only

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and behavioral support in a site-based elementary program
  • Develop and implement behavior intervention plans tailored to individual student needs
  • Collaborate with staff and families to ensure consistent support across learning environments
  • Monitor and document student progress and adjust strategies as needed
  • Provide a safe, supportive, and positive classroom environment for students with Emotional Behavioral Disorders and other disabilities

Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota teaching credential in Special Education
  • Endorsements preferred in one or more of the following: Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disabilities, Early Childhood, Emotional Behavioral Disorders, or Learning Disabilities
  • Knowledge of Evidence-Based behavioral strategies and cross-categorical special education service delivery
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience managing behavior caseloads of 8-10 students
  • Ability to work onsite and engage collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
