JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Accounting Clerk DEPARTMENT: Finance

REPORTS TO: Controller POSITIONS REPORTING TO THIS POSITION: None

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible primarily for providing accounting and administrative support to Controller, accounts payable, and revenue auditors. Duties include but are not limited to preparation of assigned monthly journal entries, reconciliation of assigned bank accounts, analysis and preparation of schedules for assigned general ledger accounts, entry of general ledger journal entries into general ledger accounting software, sorting and accounting for all journal entries at month-end, preparation of certain tax documents; filing, scanning, maintenance and retention of accounting documents. Participation in internal and independent year-end audit of the company’s financial statements. Other reasonable tasks as assigned by management.

EDUCATION OR SKILLS REQUIRED:

Associate degree in accounting or equivalent experience plus a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Computer skills should include experience with a generalized accounting software application and Windows-based spreadsheet and word processing applications. Must be proficient in the use of 10-key calculator. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSES:

Must be at least 21 years old; and must be able to obtain a VI Casino Control Commission Gaming Work Permit/License.
