Job Title: CT Scan Technologist
Location: Neptune, New Jersey
Shift: Night Shift – Wednesday to Saturday, 9:30 PM – 8:00 AM
Schedule: 4 x 10-hour shifts (40 hours per week)
Job Summary
The CT Scan Technologist performs computed tomography (CT) procedures to produce high-quality sectional and three-dimensional diagnostic images. The technologist supports diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
This role requires strong expertise in CT imaging techniques, contrast administration, patient preparation, and PACS system usage while collaborating with radiologists and healthcare providers to ensure accurate diagnostic results.
Key ResponsibilitiesCT Imaging & Patient Care

Perform complex CT imaging procedures according to established protocols.

Prepare and position patients for scans using appropriate immobilization and shielding techniques.

Evaluate CT images using PACS systems to ensure diagnostic quality and correct patient identification.

Monitor patients during procedures for any adverse reactions, especially when contrast media is used.

Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients and caregivers regarding CT procedures.
Contrast Administration & Clinical Procedures

Screen and review contrast questionnaires with patients and document them in EPIC.

Determine the appropriate contrast type and dosage as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.

Perform venipuncture, IV insertion, and IV patency verification.

Monitor patient response during contrast administration and scanning procedures.
Clinical Documentation & Coordination

Review and verify physician prescriptions to ensure the correct CT examination is performed.

Communicate with radiologists and referring physicians if clarification or additional clinical information is required.

Obtain outside imaging studies (CDs) and upload them into PACS for comparison by radiologists.

Ensure exam documentation and patient clinical history are properly recorded in EPIC and PACS.
Safety & Quality Assurance

Follow radiation safety protocols and maintain compliance with department policies.

Maintain continuing education units (CEUs) required for certification.

Adhere to hospital standards for patient safety, infection control, and documentation.
Required Qualifications
-
High School Diploma or GED.
-
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
-
Minimum 3 years of CT Technologist experience, preferably in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
Required Certifications & Licensure
-
NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License.

ARRT Certified R.T.(R) credential.
-
American Heart Association BLS Certification.
Note: Candidates must obtain ARRT (CT) certification within 12 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications

ARRT R.T.(CT) Certification.

At least 6 months of CT experience preferred.

Experience with EPIC and other HIS/RIS systems.
Required Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and radiographic positioning.

Expertise in CT scanner software and hardware operations.

Proficiency in PACS imaging systems and clinical documentation tools.

Experience with contrast media administration and IV procedures.
Required Soft Skills

Excellent patient care and communication skills.
