Must have completed Behavior Specialist / ABA Therapy training and have a minimum 1+ years Behavior Therapy experience. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) position is available to provide direct support to an elementary school student exhibiting aggressive behaviors in the Virginia Beach area. This role involves working one-on-one with the student, implementing behavior intervention plans, and collaborating closely with the special education teacher.
Location: Virginia Beach Area Deep Creek Central Elementary School
Position Type: Contract, Full-Time (37 hours per week)
Start Date: Immediate through June 16, 2026
Setting: Elementary School
Caseload: One 1:1 student support
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing the students Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) and related behavior supports.
- Collect data on behavior and academic progress consistently.
- Escort the student during transitions to manage difficulties in unstructured settings.
- Collaborate directly with the special education teacher to support instructional goals.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) licensure required.
- Experience working with elementary-age students, preferably with behavioral challenges.
- Ability to manage aggressive behaviors with patience and professionalism.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with teaching staff.
- BCBA supervision may be provided by the district.
