Support student success in a dynamic school district by providing flexible and impactful paraprofessional assistance across multiple elementary, middle, and high schools. This role involves covering call outs within special education classrooms, working closely with students who have behavioral needs, implementing behavior intervention plans, and assisting with daily living activities such as toileting when necessary. The position offers consistent hours with a guaranteed 30-hour workweek, creating dependable employment within a supportive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a substitute paraprofessional in special education classrooms throughout the district.
  • Support students requiring behavioral interventions, including implementing behavior plans and managing challenging behaviors.
  • Assist students with toileting and other personal care needs as required.
  • Adapt to various classroom settings, including 1:1 support or larger classroom aides.
  • Utilize the scheduling app to pick up shifts across multiple schools, responding swiftly to call outs.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers and staff to promote a positive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Active substitute paraprofessional certification on DESE.
  • Experience working in educational settings with emphasis on behavior support.
  • Ability and willingness to assist with personal care tasks.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules across elementary, middle, and high schools.
  • Completion of required fingerprinting for the district.

Location and Schedule:

  • Work locations span 33 schools primarily at elementary level within the district.
  • Scheduled hours vary: Elementary (8:30 AM 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM 4:30 PM), Middle (7:00 AM 2:30 PM), High (7:30 AM 3:00 PM).
  • Guaranteed 30 hours per week, typically covering four days or more.
